The Shooting Stars of Montpellier

Introduction

In June 2023, during a preventive workshop on social media, a young out of two suggested to do more sport ! The Shooting Stars ✨ is a roller skating team, which promotes solidarity in La Paillade district of Montpellier, the talent of young people and the values of sport. The sessions are available in the form of activities depending on the weather and the mood of the participants. As an educational program, The Shooting Stars ✨ puts into practice new pedagogies in science and entrepreneurship, co-created with families in the neighborhood.

Public

Open to all: beginner, intermediate, advanced, from 9 years old 🌸

Dates and locations

📅 Every Wednesday, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (2 hours)
📍 In front of the GSC association, 124 Allée de Coventry, 34080 Montpellier

Objective

1. Support young people to practice rollerblading, play sports and have fun.
2. Develop their attention, curiosity and self-confidence.
3. Open the field of possibilities.

In the program

1. Regular training, every Wednesday (2h).
2. Sessions in Montpellier and around, surprise guests (Slalom, Dance, Freestyle, Freeride, Rando) at PierresVives, l’Écusson, Grammont, Palavas-les-Flots and Clermont l’Hérault.
3. Contests, shows and prizes to win (fashion/sport brand, textile, sneakers, etc).
4. Repair or recycle workshops.

1. Animator - PSC1, BAFA, BIF, CQP, BPJEPS or equivalent desired.
2. Roller Skater - Join the association GSC and get your parents’ consent to skate if under 18 (see Les Étoiles Filantes Handbook).
